the plans

Here are the fabrics I am using to make Number 5's bedroom curtains. The grosgrain ribbon is actually hot pink, not red as it appears in the picture.

I am so scared that I am going to screw them up somehow. Eeeek. I have no idea what I am doing and it makes me 'keered'. I already didn't allow for any gathering, so they are going to look like pillow cases hanging up there.

Sometimes mediocre is just not good enough, y'know?

a thought- since you did not allow for gathering, could you make roman shades out of them? maybe back them with blackout liner?

um... roman shades? are you kidding me? You have more confidence in me than I do in myself.

Do they have to close all the way or are they just for show? My living room/sewing room ones didn't have to close so I didn't have to buy as much fabric to get them to hang with nice folds. You may get yours to gather a bit if they can stay over to the sides of the windows. How are you planning to hang them?

they do need to cover the whole window (there are 10 windows - it is a sleeping porch)... I took these two fabrics and found what I think might be a cool third fabric and am sewing panels on either side. It might look a little whacked, but, hey... it's onlyl money and time... those two things are easy to come by, right? tee hee

That fabric is so pretty that even if you drape it over a chair it would look beautiful.

I want curtains like that . . . although I don't know how Joe would feel about that.

Invite me over to see them when they're up!
