"thank you" falls short

In gratitude for all Veterans, thank you.

Happy Veterans Day/Day of Remembrance/Armistice Day

by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army
***
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
***
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
***
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

What a beautiful entry!

We have a young friend in the fight. He grew up with our girls. It takes a lot of courage to be willing to give your life for freedom and our safety. We miss him, pray for him, and worry for him.

A group we often forget on Veteran's Day is their families. For the mothers and fathers who long for their children to come home safely, may they have peace. To the children waiting for their parent to return, may they have hope. To the spouse waiting for each day to pass so they can see their beloved, may they have comfort.
